And he sailed off through night and day
and in and out of weeks and almost over a year
to where the wild things are.
Rest in peace, Maurice Sendak

You know how there’s always one thing you forget to do before you go away?
(Or in my case, more than one.)
Well, I’d be kicking myself if I didn’t introduce you to this little gem …

I absolutely, positively, seriously cannot wait to get my hands on this lovely, papery promise of all things wild and adventurous!
Have a peek at Colin Meloy (frontman for The Decemberists) collaboration with Carson Ellis:
Wildwood Chronicles
… and try and hang tight till August 30th when it’s released!
P.S. Goodbye again ❤
With summer on the horizon, have you begun yanking out and dusting off books you’ve meant to read (or re-read!) for-simply-ever? My summer reading pile is always more ambitious and gluttonous than practical, but that’s half the fantasy of long, hot days with a cool drink in one hand, and a book in the other, isn’t it?! I’m thinking it’s definitely time for some more Penguin loving around here. While these editions aren’t available til October 2011, Canadian illustrator and cartoonist Jillian Tamaki has given us something to get pretty squeal-ish about while we’re waiting.
Commissioned by Penguin, Jillian spent two months creating hand-embroidered, wrap around covers of Classics. The results are gorgeous, raising these books to the top of the pile. The final production will use an embossing technique to echo the sumptuous, hand-crafted look. Have a sneak peek!
bliss ❤
A little bit of book. A lot of papery love . . .
