My New Year’s eve was spent at home with way too much chocolate, music and a political documentary. I know. Not exactly fireworks-and-glass-raising, and not even what I would have expected, but there you have it. I couldn’t be arsed to get to the liquor store or make other plans and was completely content all the same. The kids were out doing their thing and I was that parent hoping they’d be drinking responsibly (erm, not the 12-year old) and not at all unhappy to hear the sound of the door unlatch last night and this morning.
