shifting

These past few days have been a full of extremes: searing humidity by day and blankets at night; temperaments and feelings deeply felt; bone-weary days spent catering and afternoons reserved for tea, thrifting and good friends. Upheaval always brings curious change. That strangling humidity gave way to a sudden explosion of peonies, and their perfume calms our sometimes frantic household.

Tree branches sway, heavy with rain. Another cup of tea and the weekend soon begins …

May yours bring welcome change!

  1. Your peonies are so beautiful I can hardly bear it. :-) What beauty they’ve brought to me on this wicked cold wintry day when the wind is howling and sleeting rain chills me to my bones. Wishing you cooler days and calmer schedules. XO

    • I’m so glad to know they’ve been a winter buster for you. I keep forgetting that our seasons are completely reversed … with howling wind and sleet, I have nothing to moan about! I’ll send you a bit of sunshine the instant it decides to brighten up around here … X
